Thailand Cheerleading Championship a Resounding Success; Asian Championship Representatives Selected, Special Athletes Earn World Cup Berths

The 30th Thailand Cheerleading Championship was held at the MCC Hall, The Mall Bangkapi, in Bangkok, exceeding expectations with enthusiastic participation. The event aims to elevate and promote cheerleading standards across Thailand, drawing over 1,000 athletes from nationwide. Presiding over the opening ceremony were Ms. Pramen Raknak, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Dr. Appanchanit Siripetch, President of the Thailand Cheerleading Sports Association. A total of 1,100 athletes from 364 teams, representing 11 clubs and 28 provinces, competed. The competition featured Pom-pom, Cheerleading, and Hip-hop categories for both junior and adult divisions, including doubles and team events. The venue was filled with spectators cheering on the athletes. Dr. Siripetch stated, "This year's championship has been a success beyond our expectations, with over 1,100 athletes from all over Thailand participating. The winning teams will represent Thailand at the Asian Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in November. This marks a significant step forward for Thai cheerleading." Notably, special athletes with autism from the Pattaya Redemptorist School in Chonburi were also included in the competition. This initiative aims to foster cognitive development and physical control through dance and performance, offering a valuable growth opportunity. Some of these special athletes may earn berths to the World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States in 2027.
