67 Thai Online Gambling Administrators Repatriated from Laos

Lao authorities have repatriated 67 Thai online gambling website administrators who had fled from Cambodia. These individuals were reportedly operating 24/7 online gambling sites from bases within Laos. This repatriation is believed to be part of intensified efforts to crack down on illegal online gambling activities within Thailand. In recent years, online gambling operations by transnational criminal organizations have expanded across Southeast Asia, and Thai authorities are focusing on eradicating these activities. It is possible that some of the 67 repatriated individuals already had arrest warrants in Thailand, and authorities are expected to proceed with further investigations against them.
