Heavy rains possible in some regions due to weak low pressure

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has announced that heavy rains are possible in some regions, including Nay Pyi Taw, from the morning of July 6 to July 14. This is due to the strong to very strong monsoon winds in the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, and the influence of a weak low pressure system that crossed the northern coast of Odisha state in India near the city of Balasore. It is reported that from July 6 to July 14, scattered to widespread thunderstorms are expected in Yangon Region, Bago Region, Upper Sagaing Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Tanintharyi Region, Kachin State, Kayin State, Chin State, Mon State, Rakhine State, and Eastern Shan State, with heavy rains possible in some areas. In addition to heavy rainfall, natural disasters such as strong winds, flash floods, and landslides may occur, and residents living near high ground are advised to be aware of the risk of landslides, while those living near small rivers and streams are advised to be aware of the risk of floods and inundations. Furthermore, it has been announced that domestic flights, and fishing vessels and ships operating in coastal and offshore waters along the Myanmar coast are also advised to take precautions in advance.
