Dong Thap Province Restores Water Supply After Pipe Rupture

Water supply in Vietnam's southern Dong Thap Province has been restored for over 47,500 households following a pipeline rupture that caused an outage. According to Quach Giang Chanh, Deputy Director of the East Northeast Tien River Water Supply Branch (Dong Thap Water Supply and Urban Environment Joint Stock Company), the damaged pipeline was repaired after 9 hours of intensive efforts, with water supply resuming on the afternoon of September 18. This incident highlights the ongoing challenges in ensuring access to clean water, particularly in drought-prone and saline-affected areas of Vietnam. The expansion and maintenance of safe water supply networks remain a critical priority for the country, both in urban and rural regions.
