NBI Subpoenas DPWH-11 Documents for Questionable Davao Infra Projects

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) – Region 11 (Davao Region) served a subpoena to the Department of Public Works and Highways-11 (DPWH-11) on Monday, directing the agency to produce documents related to some 50 allegedly questionable flood-control and road projects in the region, mostly in Davao City. The documents being sought by the NBI are believed to be related to alleged irregularities in the contracting, implementation, and payment of these projects. The investigation is reportedly focusing on the potential misuse of public funds and possible fraud in the quality and bidding processes of these projects. The Davao Region is a major economic hub in southern Philippines with active infrastructure development, making the transparency and integrity of these projects crucial for its sustained economic growth. DPWH-11 has indicated its intention to promptly submit the requested documents in compliance with the subpoena.
