Indonesian Home Affairs Minister Praises CNN Indonesia as Partner for Regional Government Awards

The Minister of Home Affairs of Indonesia, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, lauded CNN Indonesia for its contribution as a media partner in the "Apresiasi Pemda Berprestasi 2026 Batch II Regional Kalimantan" (Regional Government Achievement Awards for Kalimantan Region). The appreciation event, organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs and managed by the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN), was held at the Platinum Convention Hall in Balikpapan on Thursday night (3/9). Minister Tito stated that the awards for high-achieving regional governments in the Kalimantan region have been carried out very well and have become widely known. He praised the event, saying, "The event rundown was good, the performances were good, and the hosts were also okay." Benni Irwan, Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, also expressed his gratitude to CNN Indonesia for escorting the event to completion. "And of course, we hope that in future events, we can always join hands," he said. He added, "There are indeed many pearls in local governments that have creations and can make something different and something of change in their regions." Meanwhile, the Rector of IPDN, Halilul Khairi, expressed hope that future activities could focus on topics that would further encourage regional governments to provide services to the community. He emphasized that every government policy must be oriented towards the welfare of the population. Halilul also appreciated CNN Indonesia for its role in the success of the event. "And our friends from CNN, as media partners, did a very good job, very neat in organizing all activities. And I thank our friends from CNN as media partners who organized this event," he said. In this event, 32 regions received awards in various categories. These categories included waste management and environment, access and quality of health services, the 3 million livable housing program, and residents' access to education services.
