Myanmar-India discuss to enhance cooperation on pharmaceutical standards

It is known that Myanmar and India have held discussions between the Food and Drug Administration and the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) to enhance cooperation between the two countries on pharmaceutical standards. The second joint working group meeting between the Ministry of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), and the Government of India was held in New Delhi, India, from July 27 to July 29, with a delegation led by the Director General of the Food and Drug Administration attending. At the meeting, discussions were held on the recognition and use of the Indian Pharmacopoeia, related processes, mutual cooperation on pharmaceutical quality and standards, and technical exchange between pharmaceutical testing laboratories. Furthermore, opinions were exchanged on enhancing the performance of skilled personnel, strengthening pharmaceutical quality assurance, and improving pharmaceutical regulatory processes in line with international standards. It is known that further cooperation will be carried out in systematically and long-term enhancing pharmaceutical cooperation between the two countries, strengthening pharmaceutical quality assurance systems, developing pharmaceutical supervision and management activities in accordance with international standards, exchanging technology and information, and implementing research and performance improvement programs.
