Foreign Leaders Congratulate Vietnam on 81st National Day

The Socialist Republic of Vietnam celebrated its 81st National Day, receiving congratulatory messages from leaders of Laos, China, Cambodia, Russia, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Mongolia, the United States, and Japan. Lao leaders, including General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, and Acting President of the National Assembly Sounthone Xayachak, cabled messages of congratulations to their Vietnamese counterparts. They expressed pride in Vietnam's significant achievements over the past 81 years, noting these as a valuable source of encouragement for Laos' national construction and defense. They pledged continued close cooperation to preserve and nurture the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations for mutual benefit and regional peace, stability, and development. Chinese leaders, including General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji, sent separate congratulatory messages. They lauded Vietnam's socio-economic development and international influence, expressing confidence that under the leadership of General Secretary and President To Lam, Vietnam would achieve its goals set by the 14th National Party Congress. China affirmed Vietnam's priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and vowed to work with Vietnam to further promote traditional friendship, enhance solidarity and cooperation, and substantively advance their Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, bringing practical benefits and contributing to global peace and progress. Cambodian leaders, including from the Cambodian People's Party Central Committee, King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, National Assembly President Samdech Moha Roatsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, extended congratulations. They highly praised Vietnam's achievements and international standing, believing the Communist Party of Vietnam would reach its goals of becoming a high middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2045. Cambodia reassured its commitment to good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-lasting stability, pledging continued close cooperation to deepen bilateral ties and promote regional peace, stability, and prosperity. Russian leaders, including President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Chairwoman of the Federation Council, and Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, warmly congratulated Vietnam. They emphasized that Vietnam and Russia have stood side by side for decades, affirming that their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is advancing positively in a spirit of friendship and mutual respect. Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia Party, also sent a congratulatory message. Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of State Affairs of the DPRK, along with Premier Pak Thae Song, extended congratulations. They expressed belief that the traditional friendship would deepen and expand in line with senior leaders' agreements and wished Vietnam further achievements. Mongolian leaders, including President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, Prime Minister Nyam-Osor Uchral, and Chairman of Parliament Sandag Byambatsogt, congratulated Vietnam on its major achievements under the Party's leadership, noting their contribution to economic growth and improved living standards. They affirmed their commitment to working with Vietnam to implement agreements and further develop their Comprehensive Partnership. U.S. President Donald Trump cabled a congratulatory message, praising Vietnam's independence as a testament to its people's strength and resilience, inspiring friendship. He affirmed the U.S. attaches great importance to its relationship with Vietnam and their shared commitment to peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, hailing Vietnam's growing global leadership role. Emperor Naruhito of Japan offered a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam, extending warm congratulations and sincere best wishes.
