Road Accident in Pailin Province, Cambodia, Injures Two

A car accident occurred on National Road No. 57 in Pailin Province at approximately 5:50 AM on July 20, 2026. A passenger car, while attempting to evade an oncoming vehicle, suffered a right front tire blowout. This led to the car swerving off the road into a dry canal, where it collided forcefully with a large flame tree. Two women, the driver and a passenger, sustained moderate to severe injuries and were transported to Pailin Provincial Hospital. The driver, identified as Borey Linak, female, approximately 38 years old, residing in Baddinnyeuv Village, Pailin City, Pailin Province, suffered moderate injuries. The passenger, identified as See Nun, female, approximately 40 years old, also from Baddinnyeuv Village, sustained severe injuries, including fractures to both legs. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was traveling from Pailin City towards Battambang Province from west to east. Upon reaching the scene, a large vehicle approaching from the opposite direction allegedly veered into their lane at high speed. The driver of the passenger car attempted to steer to the right to avoid a collision. At that moment, the right front tire burst, causing the driver to lose control. The car then veered into the dry canal and struck the base of a large flame tree, becoming wedged. Local residents rushed to the scene to assist in extricating the injured women from the vehicle.
