Union Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture U Maung Myint attended the 8th Heilongjiang Tourism Development Conference held in Jixi City of China's Heilongjiang Province, from July 8 to 9. During the visit, the Union Minister met with Heilongjiang Party Secretary Mr Xu Qin to discuss expanding tourism and cultural cooperation between Myanmar and China. The two sides exchanged views on promoting tourism, youth exchanges, cultural activities, and closer bilateral ties. The Union Minister also addressed the 2026 Heilongjiang Culture and Tourism Promotion Conference, highlighting the long-standing friendship between the two countries and inviting more Chinese tourists to visit Myanmar. He said Myanmar remains a safe travel destination and welcomed greater cooperation in tourism development. The Myanmar delegation also visited prominent tourist attractions in Heilongjiang Province, including the Beidahuang Calligraphy Museum, Xingkai Lake, Huran Village, Jixi Ice Sports Center, and Harbin's Dream Ice and Snow Pavilion to study China's tourism development and management practices.
