Former PM Hun Sen Directs Support for Party Members in Need

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – August 2, 2026 – Hun Sen, Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), has directed the distribution of humanitarian aid to impoverished party members. The directive was issued as Mang Sineth, Chairman of the CPP's Preah Sihanouk Provincial Party Committee, received donations from Neak Oknha Sour Virak, CEO of Virak Buntham Company, on the afternoon of August 2, 2026. The charitable contributions included rice, canned fish, soup powder, and 'kapae' (a type of seasoning), intended for party members facing hardship in various districts and communes within the province. Mang Sineth expressed his gratitude to Neak Oknha Sour Virak for the generous donation, wishing him and his family good health and continued prosperity in their business endeavors. The aid will be distributed to struggling party members across four target districts and cities in Preah Sihanouk province: Preah Sihanouk City, Koh Rong City, Kampong Som City, and Stung Hav District. Specific allocations include 1 ton of rice, 5 cases of canned fish, 100 packets of soup powder, and 100 packets of 'kapae' for each of the administrative bodies of these cities and districts, as well as for individual communes and districts within them. For example, Preah Sihanouk City's administration will receive 1 ton of rice, 5 cases of canned fish, 100 packets of soup powder, and 100 packets of 'kapae', with each of its four communes receiving similar amounts. Kampong Som City's administration will receive 2 tons of rice, 10 cases of canned fish, 200 packets of soup powder, and 200 packets of 'kapae'. This initiative highlights the CPP's commitment to social welfare and its efforts to maintain connections with grassroots members, particularly in regions facing economic challenges.
