MSME Development: Union Minister visits factories in Bago Region

Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr Charlie Than on 2nd August visited Paper Mill (Yeni) in Bago Region and inspected the laboratory testing for pulp production and packing papers production process. During the inspection, the Union Minister stressed to record the research works, and to prepare for transferring the pulp producing techniques to MSME entrepreneurs. He called for active collaboration and cooperation among the staff for boosting production. Next, the Union Minister visited the Tissue and Chopstick Industry, 50-ton Paper Mill and 50-ton Rice Mill in Myo Hla of Yedashe Township and observed the installation of the machines and work processes. The Union Minister stressed the importance of raw materials, capital, inputs and human resources for successful operation of MSME businesses, and urged all to strive for development of the sector which could also contributes to creating job opportunities and poverty reduction. He stated that MSME entrepreneurs should assist the residents to increase income, job opportunities and establishing manageable industries. He also highlighted to produce new value-added products with the use of local raw materials and to prioritize for work place safety. The Union Minister then coordinated the needs presented by MSME entrepreneurs.
