Schools in Nyaungdon Township reopened after cleaning following river water receding

It is reported that schools in Nyaungdon Township have been reopened for normal operations after cleaning and disinfection as the river water has receded. On September 3, Deputy Minister of Education U Nay Myo Hlaing visited and inspected the situation of primary education schools that had been temporarily closed due to rising river water levels and heavy rainfall in Ayeyarwady Region. He provided necessary assistance for the schools where the water had receded and cleaning and disinfection were being carried out for their reopening. He visited Patup Village Primary School, Thazin Ye Kyaw Village High School (Branch), Thazin Village Primary School, Panseik Village Primary School, and Bawa Shin Primary Middle School (Branch) in Nyaungdon Township. He inspected the cleaning and disinfection of classrooms in schools where river water had receded and normal teaching had resumed, the replenishment and support of textbooks, stationery, and school uniforms damaged or washed away by the flood, and the arrangements made for alternative teaching to ensure that students do not fall behind in their subjects when all schools reopen after the water recedes. He also inspected the learning situation of students in temporary classrooms and provided backpacks and stationery to primary school students, as well as incentive payments to teachers. Similarly, he visited and inspected Lekone High School and Thanetdawt Primary School in Maubin Township and provided necessary assistance. Following this, at the Pinya Yadanar Hall of No. 2 Basic Education High School in Maubin Township, he met with district and township education officers, headmasters, and teachers. The attendees and the Ayeyarwady Region Education Officer explained the status of school buildings and educational activities. The Deputy Minister discussed these matters, provided necessary assistance, and presented incentive payments to flood-affected staff and students.
