Information Minister Meets Global Charity Cyclist, Commends Fundraising for Children's Healthcare

Minister of Information H.E. Neth Pheaktra met with independent Cambodian adventure cyclist Mr. Tiv Dararith to commend his successful completion of a two-year solo global expedition aimed at raising funds for children's healthcare in Cambodia. The courtesy meeting took place at the Ministry of Information headquarters in Phnom Penh. Under his campaign titled "Cycling Around the World for Cambodian Children," Mr. Dararith covered 60,000 kilometres across 40 countries over the course of two years. His humanitarian journey successfully raised a total of US$260,243.57. The raised funds will be donated to Angkor Hospital for Children and the Kantha Bopha Cambodia Foundation to support free medical treatment, consultations, and healthcare services for Cambodian children. During the meeting, H.E. Neth Pheaktra praised Dararith's selflessness and commitment to social welfare, particularly his efforts to improve children's health, and encouraged him to continue pursuing future initiatives for the cause. This initiative highlights the potential for individual grassroots contributions to address pressing issues like improving healthcare access for children in Cambodia. Amidst Cambodia's deepening ties with China, such private international collaborations and social contributions can also enhance the nation's image and attract diverse support.
