Vietnam Kicks Off New School Year, Emphasizing Education for National Development

Vietnam has commenced its new academic year for 2026-2027 across the country. On September 5, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, attended the opening ceremony at Nga Sau Secondary and High School in Chau Thanh district, Can Tho city. This event marked the beginning of the new academic year and served as an occasion to reaffirm the importance of education. On the same day, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung also attended the opening ceremony for inter-level boarding schools in border communes. This initiative reflects the government's commitment to equalizing educational opportunities, particularly in remote and border regions, and fostering local community development. Furthermore, a letter from General Secretary and President To Lam was sent to the education sector on the occasion of the new academic year. This message conveyed encouragement to educators and expressed expectations for nurturing talent that will carry the nation's future.
