Vietnam Communist Party Focuses on Digitalization to Enhance Governance

The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is set to enhance its governance capabilities through the implementation of digital management and outcome-based evaluation systems, according to Tran Cam Tu, a Politburo member and Permanent member of the CPV Central Committee's Secretariat. Tu emphasized that the work management software must allow Party committees and agency heads to swiftly identify ongoing tasks, responsible individuals, deadlines, implementation progress, whether outputs meet required standards, tasks that are behind schedule, the reasons for delays, and who should be held accountable. Furthermore, it should facilitate the identification of decisions leaders need to make to overcome bottlenecks. This push for digitalization is seen as a strategic move to modernize the Party's leadership and governance in line with Vietnam's rapid economic growth. In Vietnam's one-party system, maintaining Party discipline and ensuring efficient policy implementation are considered crucial for social stability and economic development.
