Takeo Province Seeks National Support for Road Improvement to Ease Resident Hardship

Takeo Province, Cambodia === Following reports by the local newspaper "Koh Santepheap" regarding the hardships faced by residents in the Samrong district of Takeo province due to a nearly 3-kilometer stretch of dilapidated road known as "Tumnob Tnaot Te," provincial authorities have initiated concrete improvement measures. Nop Nhee, Director of the Department of Public Works and Transport in Takeo province, confirmed on the morning of September 24, 2026, that Takeo Governor Vey Somnang had submitted an urgent request to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport for the road to be upgraded to BDST asphalt standards. The Director expressed confidence that the ministry would seriously consider this request. This road, spanning Lumchong and Tra communes in Samrong district, plays a crucial role in the daily commutes of residents, the transportation of agricultural products to market, and connectivity to surrounding areas.
