Yangon, June 30 In Hpaung Township and Seikpyu Township in Magway Region, the military council's troops have continuously carried out airstrikes using gyrocopters, paramotors, and suicide drones, even in situations where there have been no clashes. As a result, one displaced civilian was injured and Buddhist religious buildings were damaged, according to local residents and relevant township officials. According to a statement from the Social Affairs, Labor, and Humanitarian Assistance Department of Hpaung Township, the military used three gyrocopters that took off from Bagan-NyaungU Airport to conduct airstrikes on two villages in Hpaung Township on June 26, June 28, and June 29. It was reported that although no civilian casualties occurred due to these attacks, religious buildings within the villages were damaged. Furthermore, around 1 p.m. on June 28, additional attacks were carried out with suicide drones flying from the direction of Hpaung town, and it was reported that one displaced civilian, aged 39, was injured due to the explosion of a drone bomb. Similarly, local residents reported that in Seikpyu Township, Magway Region, the military council's troops conducted airstrikes on June 28 without any clashes occurring. According to local residents, two paramotors that took off from the Defense Industries Factory (KPC) based in Seikpyu dropped three bombs and attacked a location within Seikpyu Township. Although there were no civilian casualties or damage to homes during these attacks, concerns among local residents regarding aerial threats are increasing. "There were no clashes, but the military council's troops conducted airstrikes. They dropped three bombs. I heard that there were no civilian casualties or damage to homes. Residents need to be especially vigilant about military movements and aerial threats," said a local resident. Furthermore, it is known that in Seikpyu Township, on August 19, 2025, the military council's troops bombed Shal Village and Kyun Taw Village with a Y-12 aircraft, resulting in the deaths of 4 residents from Shal Village and 3 residents from Kyun Taw Village, totaling 7 deaths, and severely injuring 3 other residents. Currently, in Hpaung Township and Seikpyu Township in Magway Region, it is understood that the military council's troops are continuously attacking villages and religious buildings that are not military targets, using low-tech aerial attack systems such as gyrocopters, paramotors, and suicide drones. Therefore, local residents and relevant officials have urged the public to pay close attention to military movements and aerial threats and to prepare safety plans in advance.
