Communication services 35 percent restored in Hlaingbwe Township where flooding occurred due to Ngwan dam breach, over 40,000 flood victims, over 146 million kyats provided in aid

According to a statement on her Telegram by Daw Khine Khine Soe, the spokesperson for the State President's Office, in Hlaingbwe Township, where flooding has occurred due to the breach of the Ngwan dam, communication services have been restored by 35 percent, with the number of flood victims exceeding 40,000, and aid exceeding 146 million kyats has been provided. In the flood situation that occurred in Hlaingbwe Township, Ayeyarwady Region, due to the low-lying damage of the Ngwan dam, water levels are receding in the urban wards, and communication networks are being rapidly restored. Currently, communication services have been restored by approximately 35 percent. Currently, among the 13 mobile stations in Hlaingbwe Township, 6 stations were temporarily removed due to the flood disaster, and 6 stations experienced communication outages due to damage to Hub Sites. However, three stations in the villages of Ningyan, Kyetkwin, and Yinse were reconnected, and the station in Khamaukse village is providing normal services. Furthermore, a Cell on Wheel (COW) mobile station has been installed at the flood control office in Sayakwin village, and one B2B Satellite Terminal each has been installed at the flood rescue camps in Sayakwin village and Seitnoke Gyi village, providing emergency communication services. According to the flood situation, water levels are receding in the low-lying and high-lying wards of Hlaingbwe Township. Between 6 PM on August 6th and 6 AM on August 7th, over a 12-hour period, the water level in the low-lying wards (5) and high-lying wards (3) decreased by 0.2 feet each. In the flood situation that occurred in Hlaingbwe Township, Ayeyarwady Region, due to the breach of the Ngwan dam, basic foodstuffs and provisions continue to be provided to the flood victims. As of August 7th, a total of over 146.676 million kyats has been provided for over 40,000 people. The township administrator and ward administrators are closely monitoring the water ingress and the hazardous situation, and the risk of flooding is gradually decreasing.
