Cambodia's SDF Inspects Cashew Processing Factories for Skilled Workforce Development

The Skills Development Fund (SDF) of Cambodia has inspected cashew processing factories in Kampong Thom province as part of its efforts to develop skilled labor for the cashew processing industry. On July 24, 2026, a team led by Mr. Ki Sokkim, Executive Director of SDF under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, accompanied by the Cashew Association of Cambodia (CAC), visited the Pinex Agro and MIRARTH Agri Tech factories in Kampong Thom province to review their production lines. Executive Director Ki Sokkim stated that the mission aims to understand the challenges faced by the factories and their investment plans, in order to prepare training programs for skilled workers that meet actual demands. This initiative aligns with the government's policy to transform Kampong Thom province into an effective "cashew processing and export center." In the past six months, SDF has provided financial support for the training of a total of 36,678 trainees (31% women) in nine priority sectors. These include key strategic programs such as joint training programs, skill matching programs, support programs for informal economy workers, and the "My Skills, My Job" program. This initiative is expected to contribute to enhancing Cambodia's primary product processing capacity and revitalizing the regional economy.
