BIS Hanoi Students Excel in IB Diploma, Surpassing Global Average

The 68 students in British International School Hanoi's (BIS Hanoi) Class of 2026 achieved an average score of 35.15 in this year's International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) examinations, compared with a global average of 30.88. According to WhichSchoolAdvisor, fewer than 1% of IB students worldwide achieve a perfect score. Both students also took part in leadership, service and extracurricular activities during their time at the school. The cohort recorded a Bilingual Diploma rate of 62.9%, and an average of 1.94 Core Points, which is the highest recorded by BIS Hanoi. Core Points are awarded through the IBDP's Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Extended Essay (EE) components, with a maximum of three points. The components are designed to develop critical thinking, independent research and analytical skills. At the school's graduation ceremony, British Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam Alex Strugnell congratulated the Class of 2026.
