"The bombing happened around 4 PM this afternoon. The female shop owner died, and there were other injuries," a source from Kyeikhto said. It is known that one female shop owner died and others were injured due to the airstrike, but Mizzima is still investigating the details. "That shop was just a normal civilian shop. There was a lot of foot traffic. It was located at the junction between villages, so people often gathered there. It is said that there were shoppers in the store when the bombing occurred today. It is not yet clear how many were affected," another source said. On the afternoon of June 18, the military council forces also conducted an airstrike on a shop in Chaung Soke village, Kyeikhto Township, where revolutionary fighters were resting, resulting in dozens of casualties, including the shop owner and revolutionary fighters. The area bombed today is within the territory of Brigade (1) of the Karen National Union (KNU) and is a place where allied revolutionary forces move and operate. The village of Zigon, which was attacked this time, is located above Ngopyo village, between Ngopyo village and Nyanghtauk village. Furthermore, military sources report that the military council forces are preparing to advance on the ground to regain control of the upper regions of Ngopyo village.
