Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital's medical knowledge update week draws 12,000 participants

The Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital has hosted its 11th annual medical knowledge update week, marking its largest scale to date. This year's event featured 45 specialized topics and over 270 scientific reports, attracting a total of 12,000 registered participants. Of these, 2,500 attended in person, while approximately 9,500 joined online. The significant scale of participation underscores the increasing demand among healthcare professionals for updating their knowledge, exchanging expertise, and engaging in continuous training. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Bac, Director of the hospital, noted that the rapid advancements in science and technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and precision medicine are posing new requirements for the healthcare workforce. He emphasized that medical professionals must proactively learn, adapt, and innovate to meet the ever-growing demands of healthcare. This year's program focused on highly applicable content, spanning from clinical practice, specialized techniques, and patient care to scientific research, hospital management, and digital transformation. Topics related to process improvement, quality management, patient safety, and enhancing operational efficiency were also included, allowing participants to acquire specialized knowledge directly relevant to healthcare facility practices. According to Associate Professor, Dr. Le Minh Khoi, Head of the Science and Training Department, the blended approach of in-person and online participation provides greater flexibility for healthcare professionals within and outside Ho Chi Minh City to choose content, interact with experts, and access the program conveniently. Over its 11 years, the medical knowledge update week has become a regular academic forum for the hospital, contributing to bridging the gap between new knowledge and professional practice, thereby enhancing the capabilities of the medical team and the quality of patient care.
