Vietnamese President to Attend UN General Assembly, Discuss Global Issues, Visit US and Canada

General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, To Lam, and a high-level Vietnamese delegation will attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly's High-Level Debate, bilateral activities in the United States, and a state visit to Canada from September 20-25. President To Lam will attend the High-Level Debate of the UN General Assembly, engage in bilateral activities in the United States, and undertake a state visit to Canada. Vietnam's experiences, initiatives, and solutions will make practical contributions to the progress of the region and the world. Develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States in a substantive and effective manner. Aim to soon upgrade relations between Vietnam and Canada. Vietnam and Canada aim to soon upgrade the framework of their comprehensive partnership. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the Party's leadership determines the direction of foreign policy. In recent years, Vietnam has maintained economic growth while increasing its influence in the international community, particularly by pursuing balanced diplomacy amidst the US-China rivalry. This attendance at the UN General Assembly can be seen as an indication of Vietnam's emphasis on multilateralism and its intention to contribute to the stability of the international order.
