National-Level Workshop: President delivered an opening address

With the objectives of developing the agricultural sector, livestock and fisheries sectors, and agro-based industrial sectors, improving access to financial services, promoting investment, facilitating access to technology, increasing exports and formulating strategic programmes for future implementation, the national-level workshop on “From Agricultural Sector Development to the Growth of National Products” was held in the morning on September 21, at Myanmar International Convention Centre-1 (MICC-1) in Nay Pyi Taw. The event was attended by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing, Vice- Presidents U Nyo Saw and Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, the Speakers of the Pyithu Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw, the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Union ministers, Union-level dignitaries, senior military officers, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, chief ministers of regions and states, deputy ministers, Hluttaw representatives, heads of government departments and organizations, as well as scholars and experts who will participate in the workshop discussions. First, President U Min Aung Hlaing officially opened the workshop using digital technology. The President then delivered the opening address. Next, artistes from the Department of Fine Arts under the Ministry of Culture, Hotels and Tourism presented a special performance featuring the workshop’s theme song. The song highlighted their aspirations and efforts to ensure that value-added agricultural products not only meet domestic food requirements but also gain a strong foothold in international markets. Afterwards, Union Minister for Planning and Finance Dr Kan Zaw presented a commemorative gift to President U Min Aung Hlaing. Following the ceremony, President U Min Aung Hlaing posed for a documentary group photo together with those in attendance and toured the sector-specific exhibition booths and displays. It is reported that the national-level workshop, which commenced today, will continue with sector-specific sessions from 21 to 22 September.
