Bac Ninh Promotes Agricultural Products via Livestream
Bac Ninh province in Vietnam is promoting its agricultural products and traditional crafts through livestream sales, showcasing over 300 items. This initiative, led by the Farmers' Union, is part of the province's broader digital transformation efforts to boost the local economy.
Bac Ninh province in northern Vietnam is actively leveraging livestream commerce to promote its local agricultural products and accelerate its digital transformation initiatives. A recent livestream session, organized by the Bac Ninh Farmers' Union, showcased over 300 products not only from Bac Ninh but also from neighboring provinces including Hanoi, Hung Yen, Son La, Thai Nguyen, and Phu Tho. The featured items ranged from traditional foods, agricultural products, and medicinal herbs to natural products, OCOP (One Commune One Product) goods, handicrafts, and products from traditional craft villages. This initiative aligns with the Vietnamese Communist Party's policy to promote digital transformation, aiming to revitalize rural economies and provide new sales channels for producers in these areas. Bac Ninh has also been proactive in adopting advanced technologies, such as considering the establishment of an AI center of excellence and issuing Resolution No. 57 to boost digital transformation for businesses. The livestream sales are seen as part of this broader strategy. Under its one-party system, the Vietnamese government has prioritized digitalization as a key pillar of its national strategy to maintain and accelerate economic growth. The utilization of online platforms, particularly for rural producers to connect directly with urban consumers and international markets, is expected to reduce intermediate distribution margins and increase producer incomes. By embracing these advanced sales methods, Bac Ninh aims to enhance the competitiveness of its local economy.
