Vietnam's Border Regions Accelerate School Construction Ahead of New Academic Year

In Vietnam's western border regions, particularly in Quang Ngai province, hundreds of staff, engineers, and workers are working day and night to complete school construction before the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. This effort is bringing the long-held dream of building modern schools in border areas closer to reality. The Naval Region 3 Command is encouraging its officers and soldiers involved in school construction in border areas, and an acceleration of school construction in the border regions of Dak Lak province has also been reported. The command is supporting school construction in two border communes. The goal is to complete 100 boarding schools in border areas before the new academic year. The construction of these schools is part of a broader initiative by the Communist Party and Government of Vietnam to promote socio-economic development in border regions and improve access to education. Under its one-party system, the government emphasizes local development and the improvement of people's lives, with educational infrastructure development considered essential for redressing regional disparities and maintaining social stability. Despite Vietnam's continued economic growth, infrastructure development remains a challenge, especially in rural and border areas. The promotion of school construction is expected to contribute to long-term economic development by enhancing the quality of the future workforce through improved educational standards. Furthermore, in regions bordering China, equalizing educational opportunities also serves to foster social integration and cultivate national patriotism.
