The Kampong Cham Provincial Polytechnic Institute, the sole public institution in the province offering Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), is prioritizing skills training that aligns with market demands. The institute aims to equip students with practical abilities and enhance their employment prospects by integrating theoretical knowledge with hands-on application. According to Institute Director Hav Thin, the institute's distinctiveness lies in its focus on "skills for employment." Students not only engage in theoretical studies but also gain practical experience using technical equipment and facilities, guided by instructors and specialists, thereby building their skills and confidence before entering the workforce. "We focus on skills for employment, ensuring students possess genuine capabilities that meet the demands of the labor market and society," stated the director. He further explained that the institute actively fosters collaborations with companies, enterprises, and relevant partners to provide students with internship and practical training opportunities, thereby increasing their chances of securing employment after graduation. Additionally, the institute has a Provincial Training Committee chaired by the provincial governor and an advisory council led by the president of the provincial chamber of commerce, both contributing to the alignment of skills training with labor market needs. To facilitate student support, the institute offers free accommodation, water, and electricity. Director Hav Thin emphasized that the training's objective extends beyond mere job placement; it also aims to empower students with the skills to establish their own businesses and become entrepreneurs.
