Vietnam Enhances Global Presence Through Diverse International Engagements

The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is actively promoting the expansion of its international cooperation across various fronts. A significant recent event was the participation of a CPV delegation in the first Intercontinental Dialogue of Political Parties held in the Republic of Korea (RoK). This dialogue was hailed as a landmark for ASEAN cooperation, marking the first exchange among political parties from across Southeast Asia. Vietnam consistently attaches great importance to expanding relations with political parties worldwide, aiming to foster peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region. Domestically, the country prioritizes education and training, particularly in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, viewing human resource development as a key driver for its breakthrough development. In terms of foreign policy, Vietnam highly values its traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia, considering it one of its most important partners. Efforts are also underway to deepen cooperation in culture, arts, and cinema, reflecting gratitude for historical support from the Russian people. The Ho Chi Minh Monument, inaugurated in 1990, stands as a symbol of the enduring friendship between the two nations. With Thailand, both parties agreed to further enhance their ties, contributing to the consolidation of the Vietnam–Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Regarding relations with France, a visit by a top Vietnamese legislator expressed confidence that it would reaffirm political determination and create new momentum for translating the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership into substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation. The official visit by the Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman to Mongolia underscored the importance of bilateral relations and parliamentary diplomacy. Furthermore, Vietnam has the potential to play a deeper role in BRICS if the grouping continues to expand and strengthen its role in global economic governance. It is crucial for Vietnam to engage substantively in BRICS cooperation mechanisms while maintaining a balance among BRICS, ASEAN, and other partners to consolidate its strategic position. Domestically, directives have been issued to translate the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress into concrete action plans with clear responsibilities, timelines, and expected outcomes. Additionally, a recent Politburo resolution on overseas Vietnamese affairs emphasizes improving institutions and adopting comprehensive, open, and breakthrough mechanisms and policies to connect with, attract, and effectively mobilize the resources of overseas Vietnamese, especially intellectuals, experts, entrepreneurs, scientists, and young people.
