Cambodia's Ministry of Agriculture Boosts Border Guards, Pledges Support for Soldiers and Families

In the spirit of "the rear battlefield supports the front battlefield" and "Khmer helps Khmer," a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, led by H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, visited and strengthened the "bond of friendship" with Border Guard Unit 503 on September 11, 2026. The unit is stationed on the border in Banteay Meanchey province, ahead of the Pchum Ben festival in 2026. During the occasion, H.E. Dith Tina conveyed greetings and heartfelt thoughts from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to the officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers of Border Guard Unit 503. They are performing their mission with bravery to protect the territorial integrity, national sovereignty, and safety of the citizens. His Excellency the Minister expressed profound admiration and gratitude to the border defense forces for their sacrifice of physical and mental strength, time, and their own lives to fulfill their noble duty to the nation and people. The sacrifices of the heroes on the front lines are a crucial force that ensures the people in the rear can live, earn a living, and develop society in peace. Concurrently, H.E. Dith Tina emphasized the importance of civil institutions' contributions to supporting forces on the front lines. Through the spirit of "Khmer helps Khmer," the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries has forged emotional bonds and a "bond of friendship" with front-line units by providing support, assistance, and agricultural knowledge and techniques to help increase agricultural productivity and production at the local level. This visit to express well-wishes and provide support to the border defense forces not only serves to boost the morale of the troops but also reflects the attention given to the livelihoods of the heroic soldiers and their families. This demonstrates that those on the front lines are not left alone, as civil institutions and the people in the rear are always by their side, offering continuous support. His Excellency the Minister stated that the unity between the armed forces and civil institutions is a valuable force for building a stronger national defense. Specifically, supporting agriculture and improving livelihoods in border areas can contribute to better living conditions for soldiers' families and enhance the resilience of border communities. On behalf of the leadership and officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, H.E. Dith Tina expressed the deepest admiration and gratitude to all officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers who have sacrificed their physical and mental strength, their very blood and flesh, to protect the territorial integrity and national sovereignty. The strengthening of the "bond of friendship" between the Ministry of Agriculture and Border Guard Unit 503 during this Pchum Ben festival is a meaningful message affirming that national solidarity and the participation of the entire populace are the solid foundation for supporting national defenders. That is, while forces on the front lines fulfill their duty of defending the territory, the rear must also unite to support, encourage, and alleviate burdens, so that the heroic soldiers feel warmth and have the spirit to continue their noble mission.
