4 Electrocuted in Separate Incidents in Sarangani

Two farmers and two boys have died in separate electrocution incidents in the towns of Kiamba and Malapatan in Sarangani, Philippines. On July 29, in Barangay Luma, Kiamba, 11-year-old boys Alex Jay Palmes and Clyde Glenn Tercio were picking fruits when Palmes accidentally touched a live wire. Tercio reportedly attempted to rescue his friend but was also electrocuted. Both boys were rushed to a hospital where they were declared dead on arrival. In Malapatan, Barangay Kihan, two individuals reportedly died after being electrocuted while trying to remove a power cable dangling across a farm trail. Authorities are investigating these incidents, which are believed to be accidental. These tragic events underscore the persistent issues of aging infrastructure and inadequate safety protocols in rural areas of the Philippines.
