Military column on the move in Mauk, reaches Thauksharpyin village, breaks into homes and loots civilian property

The terrorist military, which is on the move in Mauk Township, Magway Region, has reached Thauksharpyin village and is breaking into residents' homes and looting private property at will, local residents told Yangon Khit Thit Media. The military column, which had reached Ngayate village from Yetkyi village on July 2, arrived at Thauksharpyin village in Mauk Township around 11 a.m. on July 3 and is breaking into houses in the village and looting civilian property at will. Due to this military column, 10,171 residents from 16 villages in the northeastern part of Mauk Township have been forced to temporarily flee to nearby villages and forests, and there is an urgent need for food for the displaced people. "The military column has now reached Thauksharpyin village. We don't know where they will go next. We haven't heard of any arson or arrests of civilians yet. Everyone has evacuated in advance," said a local resident. The Allied Forces of the Upper Land have urged local residents to be especially vigilant against air and ground military columns, as the military column may move towards Yephya village in Mauk Township and into Myaing Township. It is also known that during the military column's advance in Myaing Township, U Win Shwe, 61, from Sarchi village; U Myint Oo, 56, from Nansikhan village; Ko Kyaw Lwin, 40, suffering from mental illness, from Myeyint village; Ko Ne Zaw, 32, from Mitthela village; and Ko Min Min Oo, 33, from Mitthela village, were killed. Furthermore, in Myazitaw village, Myaing Township, two monastery dormitories, more than 20 civilian houses, one Ford truck, one excavator, one tractor, one tricycle, 17 motorcycles, various household furniture, and a large amount of food were burned down.
