Vietnam Secures 16 Gold Medals at Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2026

Vietnam emerged victorious at the 10th Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2026, securing 16 gold medals and a total of 25 medals. The event, held from July 17 to 22 in Dong Nai province, saw approximately 300 athletes from 10 national teams, including Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Chinese Taipei, compete in sparring and artistic performance categories. The Vietnamese team's dominant performance earned them 16 gold, 7 silver, and 2 bronze medals, placing them comfortably in first place overall. The Indonesian team secured second place, followed by the Malaysian team in third. Mr. Teddy Suratmadji, Secretary General of the International Pencak Silat Federation, commended the meticulous preparation of participating delegations and the spirit of sportsmanship displayed, contributing to the overall success of the championship. He also praised the organizational efforts in Dong Nai province, noting that "a favorable environment was created for athletes from participating countries to focus on their competitions." The Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in coordination with relevant agencies, ensured thorough preparations for the event. The championship aimed to promote the values of sports and strengthen solidarity among nations in the region.
