SENATOR Robinhood C. Padilla emerged as the leading preferred candidate for the 2028 Senate race, according to an OCTA Research survey released on Wednesday. Mr. Padilla posted a 53.9% voter preference rating, making him the only prospective candidate to rank first. This indicates the potential for prominent figures to establish an early lead in Philippine political contests. He was followed by Senator Rafael T. Tulfo with 47.4%, Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter S. Cayetano at 45.4%, former Senator Mary Grace S. Poe-Llamanzares with 44.5%, and Pasig City Mayor Victor “Vico” N. Sotto at 42%. OCTA noted that while Mr. Padilla leads, voter preferences remain subject to change before the 2028 elections.
