Cambodia: Students Urged to Be Adaptable Ahead of High School Exams

In Stueng district, Kampong Thom province, Cambodia, District Governor Sai Kimlom has urged students preparing for their high school exit examinations (Bak Doep) to be adaptable and flexible in the face of changing circumstances. During a meeting with students and their guardians from Kompong Chin village on August 7, 2026, the governor stressed that adaptability is crucial not only for exams and competitive situations but also for daily life. He emphasized the need to adjust to practical realities and possess the skills to promptly resolve immediate challenges, as well as to adapt to the general social context. Governor Kimlom encouraged all students to prepare thoroughly, maintain their physical and mental health, and foster strong spirits. He also advised them to focus their intellect to achieve good results. As learners and young people, he said, they must set clear goals and have a long-term vision after completing their exams, choosing fields of study at universities or vocational training centers that align with their interests and the demands of the labor market. He further called on the students to repay the kindness of their parents, families, teachers, and their hometown by using their acquired knowledge and skills to contribute to the construction and development of Stueng district. The district governor also expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. Som Saroeun and his wife for their continuous cooperation with the Stueng district authorities and for their sponsorship of cash and materials to encourage the students from Kompong Chin village. Additionally, Wat Soeun, the chief of the Kompong Chin T’bong commune police station, took the opportunity to inform the students about the principles of the "Safe Village" policy and the absolute rejection of illegal drugs.
