Vietnam targets digitally mapping 70% of its key agricultural raw material areas by 2030 to bolster traceability and foster sustainable growth in its agricultural sector. This initiative aligns with the nation's broader push for digital transformation within its governance framework, particularly in agriculture. By organizing production through tightly integrated value chains and adhering to stringent quality standards, Vietnamese farm produce is securing stable market access and commanding higher value, thereby paving the way for sustainable development for farmers. The agricultural product traceability system, launched nationwide on July 1 and managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, functions as a unified digital platform for the collection, consolidation, dissemination, and utilization of traceability information. This system is paramount for meeting the stringent quality and safety verification requirements of export markets. For example, in its trade relations with China, Vietnam's primary exports encompass rice, seafood, agricultural produce, processed agricultural goods, and apparel. Enhanced quality assurance through digital mapping is anticipated to further stimulate these export flows. Similarly, robust bilateral trade with Russia benefits from improved transparency in trade operations, reinforcing diplomatic and economic ties. In parallel, Ho Chi Minh City is advancing the development of smart and green port infrastructure, championing clean energy adoption, reduced emissions, and sustainable supply chain practices. This strategic direction is designed to ensure compliance with evolving international environmental regulations and deepen Vietnam's integration into global value chains. The country is also actively pursuing new avenues for economic growth through various international collaborations, including the Comprehensive Partnership with France and the exploration of novel, long-term cooperation avenues with Mongolia. Recent economic data indicates a burgeoning business landscape, with nearly 138,100 new businesses established between January and August, marking a 7.7% year-on-year increase. Concurrently, over 40,800 businesses concluded their dissolution processes, representing a substantial 125.5% rise. These trends underscore the dynamic nature of the Vietnamese economy and the ongoing process of market rationalization. The strategic implementation of digital mapping is poised to significantly enhance the supply chain management capabilities of these enterprises, thereby amplifying their international competitiveness.
