Cambodia's Techo International Airport will host the 'Tourism Expo 2026' from September 23-27, 2026, under the theme 'We All for Tourism.' The event, featuring 26 companies, aims to strengthen collaboration within the tourism sector and promote Cambodia's diverse attractions.
Phnom Penh, Cambodia – September 23, 2026 – Techo International Airport officially opened the 'Tourism Expo 2026' today, under the theme 'We All for Tourism.' The five-day event will run from September 23 to 27, 2026. The expo features participation from 26 major companies in the tourism and related sectors, showcasing their offerings across 30 booths. Oknha Chans Vanna, Managing Director of Techo International Airport, stated that airports are not merely points of entry and exit but serve as the initial touchpoint for a tourist's experience and are integral to Cambodia's tourism value chain. He emphasized that the theme 'We All for Tourism' clearly signifies the importance of 'collaboration.' Oknha Chans Vanna explained that the tourism sector cannot thrive through any single institution or business alone; it requires collective effort and cooperation among the government, airports, airlines, hotels, restaurants, tour operators, travel agencies, investors, local communities, and all relevant stakeholders. He added that by working together, tourists will not only travel to Cambodia but also gain enhanced experiences and create memories that encourage repeat visits, which is the spirit the expo aims to convey. According to Oknha Chans Vanna, the event provides an opportunity to showcase Cambodia's rich diversity, including its culture, history, heritage, cuisine, coastlines, natural attractions, community-based tourism, and modern tourism products and services. Meng Pholla, Vice President of the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents (CATA), commented that the Tourism Expo 2026 is not just a typical exhibition of tourism products or services but a powerful strategic platform for exchanging ideas and building business networks. He further noted that it also presents the diverse cultural and natural assets, along with the welcoming hospitality of the Cambodian people, to both domestic and international markets. Meng Pholla affirmed that CATA actively upholds its mission to bridge the public and private sectors. He expressed strong confidence that for Cambodia's tourism sector to develop sustainably and resiliently, three key aspects are essential: 1. Promoting the creation of new and innovative tourism products, such as green tourism, cultural tourism, and MICE tourism. 2. Enhancing service quality and safety standards to boost tourist confidence. 3. Strengthening joint promotion on the international stage by creating various programs that maximize the benefits of the modern air transport infrastructure currently available. Source: CPP Cambodia
