Vietnam Day in Slovakia Showcases Dynamic Nation and Cultural Richness

The Embassy of Vietnam in Slovakia, in coordination with the local Vietnamese community, successfully organized 'Vietnam Day' in the capital city of Bratislava. The event served not only as a cultural festival but also as an opportunity to showcase Vietnam's dynamic, tradition-rich, and integrated image on the international stage. It also reflected the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community to Slovakia's economic, cultural, and social life. The event attracted significant interest from local residents, international friends, and the Vietnamese community residing in Slovakia, concluding successfully. Visitors had the chance to explore an art exhibition introducing the country and people of Vietnam, visit booths showcasing characteristic cuisine and products, and experience unique cultural exchange activities honed over thousands of years of history. Slovak citizens and international friends expressed their fondness for Vietnamese cultural values, dedicating ample time to learn about Vietnam's history, customs, traditional arts, and to savor Vietnamese dishes. Many attendees highly praised the dynamism, spirit of integration, and positive contributions of the Vietnamese community to Slovakia's cultural and social life, while also expressing a desire for more similar exchange activities in the future. Ambassador Pham Truong Giang stated that the Vietnamese community in Slovakia, though not large in number, is a vivid testament to the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the will to rise, adaptability, and the pride in the nation's cultural and historical traditions. He emphasized that they not only build stable lives for their families but also become an integral part of the host society, making practical contributions to socio-economic development and fostering friendship between Vietnam and Slovakia. Ambassador Pham Truong Giang noted that in the process of integration, the Vietnamese community consistently preserves core national values such as family affection, the spirit of studiousness, solidarity, diligence, and Vietnamese cultural identity, thereby enriching Slovakia's diverse cultural landscape. Ambassador Pham Truong Giang expressed confidence that following the elevation of relations between Vietnam and Slovakia to a Strategic Partnership in April 2026, the Vietnamese community in Slovakia will continue to play a role as a bridge between the two nations. He also anticipates that the younger generation of Vietnamese descent will carry forward the mission of connecting the two cultures and nurturing Vietnam-Slovakia friendship. 'Vietnam Day' was more than just a cultural festival; it was a platform to introduce an image of Vietnam as dynamic, rich in tradition, and integrated, while also highlighting the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community to Slovakia's economic, cultural, and social life. Within the program, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, presented a Certificate of Merit to the Executive Board of the Vietnamese Association in Slovakia, recognizing the association's practical contributions in gathering and uniting the overseas Vietnamese community, and contributing to building a progressively developing, cohesive community that remains connected to its homeland.
