Vietnam Bolsters Border Security and International Cooperation

Vietnam and Cambodia are strengthening joint patrols to maintain peace and stability along their shared border. This initiative is expected to contribute to realizing bilateral trade targets and supporting the digital economies of both nations through enhanced cross-border e-commerce cooperation. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Dak Lak Party Committee, stressed that fostering friendship and cooperation with Cambodia's Mondulkiri province is both a political responsibility and a practical requirement for development. This aligns with Vietnam's foreign policy under its one-party system, which prioritizes stable relations with neighboring countries to maximize economic growth opportunities. Furthermore, the two countries are conducting surveys to review the implementation of their road transport agreement and assess conditions for launching international cross-border road transport through the Tan Nam–Meun Chey border gate pair. These diplomatic activities highlight Vietnam's strategy to build diverse partnerships as it seeks economic growth and enhanced international standing. Relations with South Korea, in particular, are underpinned by an increasingly solid political foundation, while Vietnam is calling for a shift in investment relations with Japan from a conventional investor-host model to a partnership model involving joint development, innovation, and production. Domestically, the Trai Cau commune in Thai Nguyen province is witnessing a remarkable transformation on land that previously yielded low economic returns, thanks to a new crop—Luc Truc bamboo. This exemplifies Vietnam's efforts to explore new growth opportunities in agriculture and revitalize local economies. Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, the new school year has commenced, with President Ho Chi Minh's message emphasizing the importance of educational investment for the nation's future reiterated.
