Angkor Hospital Launches Medical Research and Data Analysis Training to Enhance Patient Care

Preah Ang Duong Hospital has organized a three-day "Research and Data Analysis Training Course" from September 2nd to 4th, 2026, aimed at enhancing the research and data analysis skills of its medical staff to further improve patient care. During the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Chhuk Mol Kosuma, Deputy Director of the hospital and head of its research team, stated that 21 trainees are participating in this program. She highlighted that the participants are interested in research as they recognize the value of transforming practical clinical questions and challenges into scientific evidence, which is the core purpose of this program. Associate Professor Dr. Chhuk Mol Kosuma further explained that over the next three months, the trainees will be divided into small research groups. Each group will undertake a research project from its inception to its final results. The initial phase, which began on the day of the opening, focuses on learning how to identify researchable issues from daily medical work, define them as clear research questions, and begin writing a comprehensive "concept paper." The training also includes guidance on the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an additional tool. Associate Professor Dr. Chhuk Mol Kosuma expressed gratitude to Dr. Ou Songna and Dr. Khiev Kimly, the main instructors, for dedicating their time and sharing their expertise, as well as to the program coordination team for their efforts in ensuring the smooth execution of the training. Associate Professor Dr. Lu Likheang, Advisor to the Ministry of Health and Director of Preah Ang Duong Hospital, stated that this "Research and Data Analysis Training Course" is a program he believes will leave a profound and long-lasting positive impact on Preah Ang Duong Hospital. Associate Professor Dr. Lu Likheang also extended his deep gratitude to Associate Professor Dr. Chhuk Mol Kosuma and her team for their dedication in organizing this training to provide additional knowledge and research skills to their medical staff. Concurrently, Associate Professor Dr. Lu Likheang commended the commitment and time investment of the 21 trainees in participating in this training to develop their research capabilities. Associate Professor Dr. Lu Likheang added, "I am confident that through this training, the research capabilities of our medical staff will be further strengthened, leading to more effective patient care." However, Associate Professor Dr. Lu Likheang suggested that the research topics chosen by the medical staff should stem from their clinical practice and personal experiences, as these are the most valuable sources of medical evidence.
