Vietnam, Singapore Deepen Semiconductor Workforce Training Cooperation

Vietnam and Singapore are set to expand their cooperation in the field of human resource development for the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry. Ang Wee Seng, Executive Director of the Semiconductor Industry Association of Singapore (SSIA), highlighted that both countries can complement each other and work closely together to develop human resources. He stressed the crucial need for the workforce to be able to adapt and reskill as technology evolves, especially with advanced manufacturing moving towards AI-supported smart manufacturing. This expanded cooperation aligns with Vietnam's drive to achieve technological self-sufficiency in the semiconductor sector. In recent years, Vietnam has accelerated its efforts to develop the semiconductor industry and recognizes the importance of nurturing domestic talent. Collaboration with Singapore could lead to the introduction of advanced training programs and expertise, thereby contributing to the strengthening of Vietnam's semiconductor ecosystem. Vietnam urgently needs to cultivate a workforce with specialized knowledge in the semiconductor field and is intensifying its efforts to meet market demand. The country is also promoting cooperation in the semiconductor sector with Japan, aiming to enhance its technological capabilities through international partnerships.
