Cambodian Senate Unanimously Approves Four International Agreement Draft Laws

The Cambodian Senate, in an extraordinary session held on the morning of July 29, 2026, reviewed and provided opinions on four draft laws related to international frameworks, reaching unanimous agreement on all of them. The draft laws examined and opined on by the Senate pertain to the sectors of civil aviation, vehicles, and construction within an international context. The draft laws include: 1. The draft law on the ratification of the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Protocol thereto on Matters Specific to Aircraft Equipment to which the Kingdom of Cambodia becomes a party. 2. The draft law on the ratification of the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Mutual Recognition Arrangements. 3. The draft law on the ratification of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangements for Building and Construction Materials. And 4. The draft law on the ratification of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangements for Type Approval of Automotive Products. According to a press release from the Senate, after receiving opinions from senators and responses from the government, the Senate unanimously approved the aforementioned draft laws without amendment, with 58 votes from the total number of senators. Notably, the extraordinary session of the Senate was chaired by Mr. Uch Borith, First Vice-President of the Senate, with the participation of 58 senators. The four draft laws were unanimously approved by the National Assembly during its session on July 14, 2026, and are considered significant for promoting Cambodia's economy and trade regionally and globally in the fields of civil aviation, vehicles, and construction.
