Myanmar delegation in Iran for funeral of former Supreme Leader

At the invitation of the Government of Iran, Union Minister for the President Office U Tin Aung San and delegates made a visit to Islamic Republic of Iran from 1st to 5th July to attend the Funeral of Iranian former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. On arrival at Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran on 2nd July, the Union Minister was warmly welcomed by the External Affairs Director-General and head of the Asia-Pacific Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran. At the palour of Airport, they discussed matters regarding the current status of Iran, enhancing friendly relations and economic cooperation between the two countries. They also exchanged views on promoting mutual understanding and cooperation in regional and international arena, as well as multisectoral cooperation for benefit of the two countries. On the 3rd, the Union Minister attended the funeral of the Iranian Former Supreme Leader at Imam Khomeini Mosalla Mosque. He also expressed condolences on behalf of the Government of Myanmar to the Iranian President, Speaker of Iran Parliament, Supreme Court of Justice and Foreign Affairs Minister. The Union Minister and party arrived back in Yangon on Sunday evening.
