Cambodian Ruling Party Strengthens Local Organization Ahead of Commune Elections

Cambodia's ruling party leadership convened a crucial meeting in Kampong Thom province's Stoung district to bolster party organization and enhance citizen services in anticipation of upcoming commune elections. The meeting, held in the Kampong Chin Cheung commune, was led by Mr. Chhun Heng, a Central Committee Youth Wing member and representative of the party's working group for Kampong Thom province, acting on behalf of Mr. Thao Cheththa, Deputy Head of the provincial working group. Attended by approximately 65 party members and village branch chiefs, Mr. Chhun Heng conveyed greetings from Mr. Thao Cheththa and urged party members to strengthen solidarity and diligently serve the public and fulfill their duties. Key strategic plans were outlined with the upcoming commune elections in mind, aiming for party victory and efficient operations. Mr. Chhun Heng emphasized the importance of accurately updating party member data, recruiting new members, especially among the youth, and fostering strong internal party unity. He stressed the need for prompt and effective responses to residents' requests and challenges. Furthermore, he highlighted past infrastructure development achievements in Kampong Chin Cheung commune, including road construction, drainage systems, and the installation of solar-powered streetlights for public roads. Twenty additional solar streetlights, donated by Minister Thao Cheththa, were distributed during the event to improve residents' living conditions. Mr. Chhun Heng instructed leaders and working groups at all levels to continue visiting and paying close attention to the living conditions of residents in villages, particularly new mothers, grieving families, and those facing economic hardship.
