Two Dead in Nha Trang House Fire; Local Authorities Offer Support

A house fire that occurred on September 2 in Nha Trang, a coastal city in central Vietnam, has resulted in the deaths of two individuals. On September 3, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward, announced that local authorities had visited and offered condolences and encouragement to the families of the victims. The local administration has provided financial support of 50 million VND (approximately $2,000 USD) to the affected families. The fire broke out around noon on September 2 in a three-story house located in the An Binh Tan urban area of Nam Nha Trang Ward. Upon discovering the blaze, occupants attempted to extinguish it, but the fire spread rapidly, filling the house with smoke. Those inside had to find ways to escape. Following the report, the Firefighting, Rescue, and Salvage Department of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police dispatched vehicles and personnel to the scene to conduct firefighting and rescue operations. The fire destroyed a significant amount of property within the house and injured two people. According to the Khanh Hoa 115 Emergency Center, the victims have been identified as Ms. L.T.K. (born 1952) and Ms. L.N.H.C. (born 1984). Ms. L.T.K. was rescued from the fire in a comatose state with weak vital signs. Initial medical diagnoses suggested cardiac arrest and respiratory failure due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Ms. L.N.H.C. was also found unconscious, suffering from cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, and second-degree burns over her body, likely a combination of severe burns and carbon monoxide inhalation. After approximately 20 minutes of intensive resuscitation efforts, both victims' heartbeats returned. They were transported to the hospital for continued monitoring and treatment. However, their conditions deteriorated, and they subsequently passed away. The Nam Nha Trang Ward Police are currently collaborating with relevant units to examine the scene and investigate the cause of the fire.
