Vietnam Charts New Era: Reorganizing National Development Space for Digital, Green Economy

The Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam has adopted Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW on developing regions and organizing national development space in the new period. This resolution outlines a long-term vision for national development up to 2045, clearly emphasizing the transition to a digital economy, green economy, data economy, and circular economy. According to the resolution, Vietnam's regions will operate based on these new economic models. Science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation (DX) are identified as the primary drivers of national growth and development. This signifies Vietnam's ambition to move beyond its traditional manufacturing-centric economic model towards a more value-added, knowledge-intensive economy. Vietnam has achieved rapid economic growth in recent years, but ensuring its sustainability and enhancing international competitiveness remain key challenges. Especially amidst strong economic ties with China, there is a growing need to establish a unique growth model and upgrade the economic structure through supply chain diversification and technological innovation. This resolution concretizes such strategic directions, aiming to address inter-regional disparities and elevate Vietnam's standing in the international community.
