PCSO Donates Medical Vehicles to Mimaropa LGUs to Boost Health Access

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has donated patient transport vehicles to local government units in Mimaropa, aiming to boost access to emergency health services. A turnover ceremony for the vehicles was held at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City on July 9. The event was led by PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles, chairman Felix Reyes, and board directors Imelda Papin and Jennifer Liongson-Guevara. Under PCSO’s Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program, two patient transport vehicles each were given to Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. The vehicles were received by Governors Humerlito Dolor of Oriental Mindoro, Eduardo Gadiano of Occidental Mindoro, Melecio Go of Marinduque, Trina Alejandra Fabic of Romblon, and Amy Alvarez of Palawan. This initiative is expected to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the region, particularly by enhancing the capacity for patient transport during emergencies. In the Philippines, access to medical services can be limited in certain areas due to geographical dispersion and infrastructure challenges, making such vehicle donations a vital support for maintaining the health of local residents.
