Oddar Meanchey Province in Cambodia held a workshop on strategic budget planning for 2027-2029 and technical procedures for budget project preparation in sub-national administrations. Oddar Meanchey Province, located in northwestern Cambodia, held a workshop on July 10th at the provincial hall's meeting room. The workshop focused on the strategic budget planning for the years 2027-2029 and the technical procedures for preparing budget projects within sub-national administrations. The meeting was led by Mr. Un Sophak, Deputy Governor of Oddar Meanchey Province, with participation from leaders of the Provincial Department of Economy and Finance, representatives from the administrations of all five districts and municipalities, and relevant technical officials from across the province. Mr. Un Sophak stated that strengthening public financial management capacity and understanding modern technical procedures for budget planning are crucial keys to ensuring transparency, accountability, and high efficiency in the utilization of the national budget for local development and to serve the needs of the people. He explained that the strategic budget plan for 2027-2029 sets the vision, work priorities, and medium-term expenditure structure to ensure that budget utilization aligns with economic and social development goals. He further added that the technical procedures for the 2027 budget projects and the guidance for strengthening the formulation of income and expenditure estimations, as well as the implementation of new standard financial management systems, need to be accurate and timely. The Deputy Governor advised and reminded all sub-national administrations to pay close attention to this budget work, preparing plans meticulously, thoroughly, and accurately in accordance with the guidance from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, to serve as a foundation for promoting further progress in local development.
