First Lady Bun Rany Hun Sen Donates to Buddhist Institution, Supporting 323 Monks

On September 18th, First Lady Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, led a delegation to Wat Krop Ha in Ta Khmau City, Kandal Province. The delegation included Madam Dr. Ouk Maly, Chief Treasurer of the Cambodian Red Cross, and Madam Pum Chanthiny, Secretary-General, along with other colleagues. The purpose of the visit was to offer religious offerings to the Triple Gem and to donate essential supplies and funds to the 323 monks residing at the Bun Rany Hun Sen Buddhist High School within Wat Krop Ha. This initiative is intended to alleviate the hardships faced by the monks pursuing their religious education. Ven. Dr. Vong Vannao, a Royal Buddhist Scholar of the Fourth Degree, Secretary of the Kandal Provincial Buddhist Affairs, and Chief Abbot of Wat Krop Ha (also known as Wat Chumnop), received the offerings. He conveyed his profound gratitude to First Lady Bun Rany Hun Sen for her consistent concern for the welfare of the Cambodian people and monks, and for her continuous encouragement and contributions to the advancement of Buddhism. Ven. Dr. Vong Vannao specifically acknowledged the regular support the school receives, noting it has been aided three times annually. He expressed that this donation would greatly ease the difficulties faced by the monks studying at the Bun Rany Hun Sen Buddhist High School. Furthermore, Ven. Dr. Vong Vannao bestowed blessings upon First Lady Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Senate Hun Sen, Prime Minister Hun Manet, and his wife Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet. He also invoked merits for the souls of the late Maha Upasaka Lin Kree and Madam Neak Oknha Prio Maha Upasika Tean Nhanh Vivanak (parents of First Lady Bun Rany), the late Madam Maha Satha Phirak Than Sombo Ratan, the late Madam Oknha Maha Phakdei Saburith Phokarith Hun Neang, and Maha Upasika Dee Pok (parents of HE Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen). These merits were dedicated to all ancestors and benefactors, with prayers for blessings upon the two Samdechs, their families, and all Cambodian citizens, wishing them happiness, prosperity, and enduring peace, stability, and development. The donated items included: 5 tons of rice, 50 cases of instant noodles, 5 cases of canned mackerel, 25 kg of sugar, 20 cases of assorted beverages, 20 cases of mineral water, 2 cases of condensed milk, 10 packs of Goros coffee, 2 kg of tea, 20 bottles of fish sauce, 20 bottles of soy sauce, 12 kg of dried fish, 12 kg of sausages, a basket of fresh fruits, and 40 million Riel in cash. Additionally, the Chief Abbot received one set of monastic robes (Sadok) and 2 million Riel. Four accompanying monks each received one set of monastic robes and 1 million Riel.
