MNDAA Allegedly Evicts Families, Seizes Property of Former TNLA Soldiers in Northern Myanmar for Refusing Conscription

In Mongko Township, northern Shan State, Myanmar, the Kokang armed group MNDAA (Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army) is reportedly forcing former soldiers of the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) to join its ranks. Those who refuse are having their families evicted from villages and their homes and farmlands confiscated. This action follows the MNDAA's consolidation of control in the area after 'Operation 1027' in 2023, with over 200 Ta'ang individuals allegedly forcibly conscripted, spreading deep fear and anxiety among residents.
